The Graduate Certificate in Global Engagement is a fee-paying course that takes 6 months to complete full-time, or an equivalent duration part-time. It consists of 100 credits, which typically equates to approximately four units per semester.
Applicants are required to hold a degree level qualification or equivalent. Applicants with other qualifications, experience and expertise are also considered for admission, but may be required to complete appropriate preliminary units. Additionally, all applicants must demonstrate English proficiency, with minimum IELTS Academic scores of 6.0 in each band and an overall band score of 6.5.
For domestic fee-paying students, the indicative fee for 2026 is $12,934, based on a first-year full-time study load of 100 credits. The total cost will depend on your course options, including units selected and the time taken to complete the course. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance.
This course can lead to careers as a foreign or multicultural policy advisor, diversity and inclusion consultant, community engagement officer, humanitarian and advocacy officer, international business advisor, or social justice and sustainability advocate. It is also suitable as a stepping stone to further postgraduate studies, such as the Master of Human Rights.
The course takes a multidisciplinary approach, drawing on expertise from sociology, political science, area studies and geography. It was designed in consultation with key government and industry stakeholders to ensure the skills learned translate to the needs of the global workplace. Students also engage in real-world simulations, policy debates and role play scenarios, providing practical, employer-desired skills.
