Graduate Certificate in Global Security and Justice (exit only)

The Graduate Certificate in Global Security and Justice is interdisciplinary and encompasses domestic and international issues. It will equip students with critical thinking and ethical problem-solving skills that will remain resilient to rapid change across different security and political situations. The graduate certificate is ideal for professionals in the field or graduates who aim to bolster their understanding of the fundamentals of global justice and human security. Offered as a Grad Certificate/Grad Diploma qualification of 40 credit points, it is normally completed in 0.5 years full-time and 1 year part-time. Students do not apply for this award directly: admission is to the parent program, and the qualification is conferred on those who leave that program early having completed the required credit points. It is administered within Western Sydney University's Social Sciences academic area. Subjects include International Criminal Law and Justice, International Disaster Management, Gender Security and Violence, Social Research in the Digital World and Comparative International Policing. Graduates are expected to be able to analyse key theories, policies, law, principles and methods related to global security and justice; and communicate complex information and perspectives related to global security and justice issues and solutions.
