Common Questions
NTI's approach is grounded in embodied, holistic and contemplative online learning, which is described as unique within postgraduate education. An important element is to embody self-care within the process of learning how to care for the health and social needs of others, addressing the inherent risks of burnout and fatigue when caring for others.
The course takes 6 months to complete full-time. Part-time study is available from 12 months, but this option is for domestic students only.
Tuition fees are $11,900 for domestic students and $14,400 for international students. FEE-HELP is available to eligible Australian citizens.
The course consists of 3 core subjects — Mind-Body Wellness (HSW801), Nutrition and Mental Health (HSW902), and Research Methods and Evidence-Based Practice (HSW903) — plus 1 elective chosen from options including Compassion at Work, Arts Therapy, Healing Traditions: Buddhism and Psychotherapy, Mindful and Compassionate Leadership, Introduction to Buddhism, and Health as Buddhist Practice, among others.
Graduates will demonstrate advanced knowledge of key concepts and approaches to health and social wellbeing, including Buddhist-informed perspectives and contemporary evidence-based practice. They will also be able to critically analyse and evaluate information related to health and social wellbeing, apply knowledge to personal, professional, or community contexts, and communicate ideas clearly to a range of audiences.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
