Applicants can qualify through one of four pathways: (a) a Bachelor degree (AQF 7) or higher in any discipline; (b) an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma (AQF 6) in any discipline plus at least two years of full-time managerial and/or professional work experience in a related field; (c) a minimum of three years full-time managerial and/or professional work experience in a related field; or (d) a minimum of five years full-time general work experience in a related field.
The course can be completed in 6 months full-time or 1 year part-time. Please note that part-time mode is only available to domestic students; international students on a student visa must study full-time. The CRICOS-registered duration for international students is 26 weeks (0.5 years) of full-time study.
The Graduate Certificate in Information and Communications Technology is offered at four campuses: Level 16 / 233 Castlereagh St, Sydney NSW 2000; 107 George St, Parramatta NSW 2150; Level 1 / 237 Ryrie St, Geelong VIC 3220; and 363 King St, West Melbourne VIC 3003.
The course consists of four units totalling 24 credit points: Computer Systems (ICT502, 6 credit points), Ethics in ICT (ICT503, 6 credit points), Operating Systems (ICT504, 6 credit points), and Communications Networks (NTW501, 6 credit points). All units have no prerequisites. Note that not all units are offered each semester.
International students must meet one of the following English language requirements: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL 575 or better; TOEFL IBT 91 or better; TOEFL CBT 235 or better; Academic PTE 56 or better; Cambridge English CAE and CPE (from 2015) 176 or better; GCE A Levels with a C or better in English; KITE all bands B2 with a result greater than 450 in each band; or Duolingo overall 115 with no band less than 110. English Language Test results are valid for two years from the date of results up to the date of commencement.
