Graduate Certificate in Information Technology

ACU's Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (GradCertInfoTech) is a postgraduate qualification for professionals who want to upskill quickly and pivot into information technology. ACU presents it as a flexible postgraduate certificate suited to people who are ready to future-proof their career, and publishes it under the title Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (Online). ACU notes the course is also available online. It may be taken full-time or part-time, with a minimum duration of half a year full-time or the equivalent part-time. The award requires 40 credit points, and its structure is straightforward: all 40 credit points come from the Specified Units in Part A of the schedule of unit offerings, and students complete all four of them, namely ITEC610 Introduction to Data Science with Python, ITEC612 Modern Information Technology Infrastructure, ITEC617 Modern Database Management and ITEC619 Programming Fundamentals. Between them, these four units cover data science using Python, contemporary information technology infrastructure, modern database management, and the fundamentals of programming. Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide unless otherwise approved by the Course Adviser, and in all aspects of progression through the course students are advised by the Course Adviser. The ACU Handbook lists Brisbane, Melbourne, North Sydney and Online as the approved locations for the course, and notes that it is not offered at Brisbane or Melbourne in 2027, leaving North Sydney and online study as the options available in that year. ACU publishes no exit points and no professional recognition for this qualification.
