We offer different levels of entry based on your previous experience. If you have limited IT experience, you'll gain foundational IT skills. If you're an experienced IT professional, you can further enhance your skills. You can then apply these skills within emerging technology-driven growth areas. These areas include IT, communications, business, and entrepreneurship. This program offers pathways to future study. On completion, you will be eligible for direct entry into programs such as Master of Information Technology and Master of Cyber Security. You will complete courses across various topics, including database management, programming, project management, and problem-solving. You will also be able to study areas such as big data, visualisation, analytics, cloud computing and more. The Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (GCIT) serves as: • a direct-entry option to the MIT for students with a 3 year diploma/advanced diploma with relevant industry experience or an equivalent qualification
• a program that provides further professional knowledge in information technology to students who have completed a qualification at AQF 6 level or above
• an exit option for Master of Information Technology students who do not wish to complete the MIT and wish to exit with the GCIT qualification.
The program consists of 40 units.

Prospective students are asked to apply directly to the University. This program is open to both domestic and international students.
Bachelor degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in any discipline
Diploma or Advanced Diploma of 3 years or equivalent qualification in a related field
Diploma or Advanced Diploma of 3 years or equivalent qualification in a non-related field plus 1 year relevant work experience
Diploma or Advanced Diploma of 2 years or equivalent qualification in a related field plus 1 year relevant work experience
Diploma or Advanced Diploma of 1 year or equivalant qualification ina related field plus 2 years relevant work experience
A minimum of 3 years demonstrated relevant work experience in a related field (assessed on a case-by-case basis)
Other qualifications and work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis Related fields of study may include but are not limited to IT, computing, science, technology, business or communications. Relevant work experience may include but is not limited to technical/professional positions in IT, computing, science, technology, business or communications.
