The Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (GCIT) is a 16-week full-time or part-time equivalent postgraduate program.
Yes. The subjects in the GCIT have been aligned with the first two blocks of the Master of Computer Science (MCS). Students have the option of either continuing through to the MCS or graduating with the GCIT after completing these two blocks.
The GCIT is delivered on campus at either Sydney (Level 4, 22 Market Street, Sydney, NSW 2000) or Melbourne (Level 1, 112 Newquay Promenade, Docklands, VIC 3008). Intakes are available in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
To graduate with the GCIT, students must complete 4 subjects totalling 24 credit points: Programming Principles (MCS501), Introduction to Network and Cyber Security (MCS502), Web and Database Systems (MCS503), and Software Development Methodologies (MCS504).
Graduates of the GCIT may pursue careers including ICT/Helpdesk Support Officer, ICT Programmer, ICT Security Specialist, Network Analyst, IT Consultant, IT Educator, Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Web Designer, and Systems Administration.
