The course has a particular focus on the dynamic Indo-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. The core component covers major sub-fields including International Relations Theory and Practice, International Security, International Political Economy, the Evolution of International Society, and Governance in the International System. Elective units include cross-cutting themes such as human rights, democracy, religion and non-governmental organisations, as well as key global regions and powers.
Yes. Upon successfully completing the Graduate Certificate in International Relations, you can choose to progress into the Graduate Diploma in International Relations or the Master of International Relations. This may be subject to achieving a course weighted average mark of 65%, and if you enrol in the graduate diploma or master's course, you will receive full credit (subject to conditions) for units completed in your graduate certificate.
