Common Questions
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed a bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or higher from a recognised higher education institution, or have equivalent professional/employment experience. Additionally, applicants must have completed 0.5 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) of research skills development, either through undergraduate studies or equivalent professional experience as approved by Adelaide University. Admission is also conditional on the availability of a suitable supervisory panel and resources to support the proposed research proposal development.
Yes. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Research Design with a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 or higher, you'll be eligible for admission to the Master of Research program. You'll also be eligible for credit and be able to complete the Masters in just one year of full-time study.
The program comprises 24 units made up of two core courses: Research Project Definition and Research Planning and Proposal. You will learn how to plan and prepare a research project, including writing a research proposal, examine effective methods for defining a clear research question, explore approaches for communicating complex information, become familiar with relevant ethical frameworks and professional accountability standards, and develop high-level analytical and critical thinking skills.
Yes. Adelaide University has designed the Graduate Certificate in Research Design to be flexible, so you can choose to study full-time or part-time and advance your study goals without compromising your current commitments. The program code is GCRDS and it has a duration of 0.5 years full-time.
Applications are made through SATAC using the SATAC code AGC122. The program has intake dates in February and July. Study is primarily delivered on campus across multiple campuses including Adelaide City Campus, Magill, Mawson Lakes, Mt Gambier, Roseworthy, Waite, and Whyalla.
