Yes, if you have undertaken previous studies at another institution or have significant relevant employment experience, you may be eligible to apply for RPL. UTS assesses RPL only after an enrolment offer is accepted, and you should apply before your initial enrolment (or at enrolment for late offers, no later than one week after the start of the teaching session).

You will be notified of your RPL outcome via your UTS webmail account within four to six weeks of application submission.

RPL may be granted as either specified credit (subject exemption), where prior learning is equivalent to a specific UTS subject, or unspecified credit (unspecified elective/general advanced standing), where prior learning counts towards an elective component but is not equivalent to a specific UTS subject.

You must provide certified official academic records and qualifications, along with supporting evidence such as subject outlines, comparison tables, or portfolios. Non-English documents must be officially translated and submitted with certified copies.

No, prior learning can be recognised only once within any individual UTS course. It cannot be recognised again for another subject or component in that same course. However, subject substitution may be offered as an alternative, where an alternative subject of equivalent credit point value is added to your study plan.
