To be eligible for entry, applicants must hold a recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) with a major in a cognate discipline area such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Studies, and achieve an overall average of 65 or higher as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator, or an average of 65 or higher in at least 4 courses in mathematics or statistics at second-year undergraduate level or above. Assumed knowledge includes a minimum of one course in several variable calculus and one course in linear algebra at the university undergraduate level.
The Graduate Certificate in Mathematics and Statistics has a duration of 0.7 years and comprises a total of 24 Units of Credit (UOC). Students can commence in Term 1 or Term 3.
For domestic students, the 2026 indicative Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) fee for the first year and to complete the degree is $2,500. For domestic full-fee paying students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $20,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is also $20,000. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $30,000 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $30,500. Fees are subject to annual review and may vary.
