Common Questions
Yes, the Graduate Certificate in Media Practice and Industry (C11289) will be phased out and discontinued from 2025. Students will need to complete their subjects by the last date of offer and complete their degree by Spring 2026.
There is no requirement for students to move to the new course. Students will be able to remain in their current course and graduate as per the normal process. Current students will have access to some subjects from the new course as UTS will be teaching out some current subjects and substituting others with subjects from the new course.
Students who have not completed the course by the phasing out deadline will be managed on a case-by-case basis by a School Responsible Academic Officer (RAO). The RAO will work with the course academic advisor to provide advice on alternative arrangements that the student may wish to pursue at UTS or elsewhere such as Open University. Students should submit an Ask UTS Enquiry if they need to be referred to the RAO.
If you find a postgraduate subject that you want to complete as an elective and this elective isn't included in your elective choice block, you will need to submit an eRequest to seek approval from the School. Please ensure that it is an 8-credit-point, postgraduate level subject before submitting an eRequest to seek approval from the School.
All inquiries should be directed to the UTS Student Centre in the first instance. Online enquiries can be submitted via Ask UTS. For telephone enquiries within Australia, call 1300 ASK UTS (1300 275 887), Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Outside Australia, call +61 2 9514 1222.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
