Yes. The graduate certificate provides an articulation pathway into the Graduate Diploma in Public Health and then the Master of Public Health. You can also add an extension to gain research experience through additional research methodology courses and/or an advanced research project, which may make you eligible to apply for a PhD. Additionally, you can combine a master's degree with health leadership and management, global health, or infectious diseases intelligence through dual or dual extension options.
Yes. The program offers flexible delivery options, and courses can be taken online or face-to-face, full-time or part-time. The program is made up of four courses in total, including one core course — Foundations in Public Health and Health Care Systems — and three elective courses. The elective courses on offer can be viewed in the program handbook on the UNSW website.
Yes. The program was designed to be relevant to the workplace, and one such opportunity is an internship program where you gain practical experience in relevant health organisations. UNSW offers a range of domestic and international internship placements in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
For domestic students, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available with a 2026 indicative CSP first year fee and fee to complete the degree both at $5,000. For domestic full-fee paying students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $19,500, with the same fee to complete the degree. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $30,500, with the indicative full fee to complete the degree at $31,000. All fees are subject to annual review and are a guide only.
