Common Questions
Yes, the Graduate Certificate in Public Health is a fully online, multidisciplinary course designed for health professionals seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in public health while continuing to work. It is available in both internal and external study modes and is also available to international offshore students.
The course is one semester in duration, which equates to 6 months of full-time study. It is also available on a part-time basis, allowing students to spread their study over a longer period.
For 2026, the indicative first-year fee for a Commonwealth supported place is $4,200, while a domestic fee-paying place is $13,932. These fees are based on a full-time study load of 100 credit points and are indicative only — the total cost will depend on units selected and time taken to complete. Students may be eligible for HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP assistance.
Applicants must submit a CV of no more than 4 pages that includes detailed information about qualifications, paid work experience (with dates, tasks, duties and outcomes), key training and professional development, volunteer work, referees (one professional and one academic), publications, grants, and conference presentations. Applicants must also provide a one-page personal statement outlining why they wish to study public health and what their contribution to the field will be.
The course teaches students to apply discipline-specific knowledge in public health; think critically in problem solving and decision making; access and use information technology to evaluate and interpret public health data; communicate effectively in various settings within public health; demonstrate responsibility for personal outputs; explain how different national contexts impact health; demonstrate awareness of the impact of inequities and social disadvantage on health; and work effectively as an individual and within a team environment.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
