Faith and Purpose
Discover the foundations of faith and how it relates to one's worldview and purpose. Students will explore the Christian story from Scripture and express ideas of their own faith, examine how faith shapes views on the meaning and purpose of life, the value of humanity and ideas of human flourishing.
Introduction to Theology
Gaining a foundational understanding of theology equips you with the tools to interpret Christian beliefs and their application to life and mission. This subject explores the historical and contemporary formation of core doctrines such as the Trinity, creation, and redemption.

Creation and Humanity

This course meets the theological qualification requirements to be an ordained minister in churches that are part of the Australian Christian Churches movement, which represents over 1,100 churches throughout Australia and neighbouring countries. If your church is part of another denomination, you should check with your church or denomination office if this course is also recognised for credentialled ministry.
Yes. The Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies is a nested course within the Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies and the Master of Theological Studies. Students who earn the Graduate Certificate as a stand-alone award can choose to progress onto Masters level awards at Alphacrucis University College.
Each subject costs $3,150 and FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students.
The course is available via Online Recorded, Online Live, Mixed Mode, and Face to Face study modes. Study locations include Online, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide, though some subjects are only available on campus — students should check the timetable to confirm location and mode.
The course comprises 4 subjects totalling 40 credit points: 2 core subjects (ACA401 Faith and Purpose and THE405 Introduction to Theology, worth 20 credit points) and 2 elective subjects (worth 20 credit points). Electives may be taken in the disciplines of Biblical Studies (BIB), Cross Cultural Ministry (CCM), Ministry (MIN), or Theology (THE) at 400 level or above. Each subject is 10 credit points and involves 130 hours of total study.
