To complete the Graduate Certificate of Business, you must pass 4 credit points. This includes DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin (a 0-credit-point compulsory unit) in your first study period, 3 credit points of course elective units, and 1 credit point of open elective units. The open elective may be chosen from a unit not already attempted from the course elective list, other postgraduate units offered by the University (subject to eligibility), or up to two Deakin stackable short courses equal to 1 credit point (0.5cp microcredentials).

The estimated tuition fee for a full-fee paying place is $17,100, which represents the typical tuition fees for students completing this course within the same year they started. The cost may vary depending on the units you choose, your study load, the length of your course, and any approved Recognition of Prior Learning. You may also be eligible for a Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) loan, including FEE-HELP or HECS-HELP, depending on your course type and citizenship or residency status.
The Graduate Certificate of Business is available in two intakes: Trimester 1 starting in March and Trimester 2 starting in July. Both intakes are available at Burwood (Melbourne) and Online. Direct applications to Deakin for Trimester 2 2026 close on 21 June 2026.
To be considered for admission, you will need to meet at least one of the following criteria: completion of a bachelor degree, or at least two years' relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent). For English language proficiency, you must demonstrate at least one of the following: a bachelor degree from a recognised English-speaking country, an IELTS overall score of 6.5 (with no band score less than 6.0) or equivalent, or other evidence of English language proficiency. A combination of qualifications and experience may be deemed equivalent to minimum academic requirements.
