Yes. The GradCertBA is a nested qualification within the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (GradDipBA). Graduates of the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration will receive advanced standing (full credit for their four units) into the GradDipBA program, and the course can also serve as a pathway towards future MBA studies.
Domestic students will pay $940 per unit, for a total of $3,760 for the GradCertBA. International students will pay $1,880 per unit. Sheridan is a not-for-profit higher education provider and sets tuition at the lowest possible level to reduce financial barriers to higher education.
International students must have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band lower than 6.0 (or equivalent), plus either a Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised education provider with a credit average and a minimum of 3 years full-time professional experience, or a Higher Education diploma from a recognised education provider and a minimum of five years' full-time management experience. A satisfactory interview is also required.
The Graduate Certificate of Business Administration comprises 4 core units of study: BU501 Organisational Behaviour, BU502 Accounting and Finance for Managers, BU503 Marketing Management, and BU504 Managerial Economics. Each unit represents 3 credit points, and students must complete a minimum of 12 credit points to fulfil the requirements of the award. Units may be taken in any order as they do not require prerequisites.
A typical Graduate Certificate of Business Administration unit represents 150 hours of study, consisting of 36 hours of seminars (3 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks) and 114 hours of private study (7 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks plus 10 hours per week over 3 non-teaching weeks). The course can be completed in 1 semester (6 months) full-time, or over 2 semesters part-time.
