Course Content
Finance for Corporate Managers
Explores concepts and principles of business finance such as understanding financial statements, time value of money, risk and return, capital budgeting and working capital. Enables students to understand the financial consequences of strategic decisions and equip them with tools to integrate the financial approach into decision-making.
Communication and Negotiations
Allows students to communicate more effectively, identify negotiation opportunities, address conflicts and gain an understanding of the unique challenges that exist when individuals, groups and organisations face potential or existing conflict. Covers a broad spectrum of negotiation strategies, new tactics to solve ongoing differences and models for securing cooperation and agreement in competitive environments.
Organisational Context and Roles in Project Management
Students learn the internal and external organisational context in which projects are formed, executed, supported and evaluated. Covers engagement with project stakeholders and the impact organisational context has on defining the roles, responsibilities and level of collaboration required by a project team for successful project delivery.
People, Culture and Agile Leadership
Develops a student's understanding of the influence culture, politics and power have on the behaviour of others in an organisational context. Introduces agile leadership and the Clifton Strengths Finder Assessment. Students learn how to adjust behaviour to reflect circumstances and cultivate a flexible, responsive, and collaborative culture at work.

The course has intakes in February, March, May, June, August, September, October, and November each year. For 2026, Semester 1 Block 4 classes start on 1 June 2026, with the last date to enrol also being 1 June 2026 and the census date on 8 June 2026.
You will study four core units at AQF Level 8: MBA4001 Finance for Corporate Managers, MBA4002 Communication and Negotiations, MPM4001 Organisational Context and Roles in Project Management, and MBA4004 People, Culture and Agile Leadership. Each unit is worth 10 credit points, for a total of 40 credit points required for the award.
Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration provides direct entry and advanced standing into the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Business Analytics) and the Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics). The Graduate Certificate is embedded in both of these higher qualifications.
The course is delivered on-campus at AIH's Sydney campus (Level 3 & 4, 545 Kent Street, NSW 2000) and Melbourne campus (Level 1, 20 Queen Street, VIC 3000). Full-time students can expect approximately 8 hours of on-campus classes per week, plus a minimum of 10–12 hours per week for self-directed study including assignments, readings, and project work.
Assessment in the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration is practical, professionally focused, and research-based. Assessment types include reports, project documentation, case studies and presentations; essays and assignments; quizzes; practicals and team-based projects; and Q&A activities.
