Common Questions
The Graduate Certificate of Education is both a standalone qualification and a nested award within the Master of Education, allowing flexibility for students who may wish to start with a postgraduate course before committing to a Master of Education. Students who need to exit the Master of Education earlier than intended due to unforeseen personal or professional reasons may also qualify for a course enrolment variation into the Graduate Certificate of Education.
This course is delivered by the National Institute for Christian Education (NICE) on behalf of Alphacrucis College through a Higher Education Third Party Arrangement (HETPA). NICE is a postgraduate training institute that has been developing Christian educators since 1979 and is the postgraduate studies arm of the Christian Education National (CEN) schools' network.
The course can be completed full time in one semester (four subjects in one semester), or part time over up to four years by studying one subject per semester across four semesters.
Applicants must have completed at least an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in Education or equivalent, or a Level 8 or above postgraduate qualification from an authorised institution. Those with a Bachelor degree in a field other than Education must demonstrate two years of professional experience relevant to the field. International students must achieve an IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.0, with no score below 7.0 in any of the four skills areas.
The Graduate Certificate of Education is delivered fully online using the Learning Management System (LMS), Moodle. Online study is supported by lecturer meetings via Zoom/Teams. Although these synchronous sessions are not compulsory and will be recorded for those unable to attend live, participation is highly recommended. Students studying outside Australia are welcome and catered for in the course delivery.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
