Yes, the course is available both online and on campus at the Casuarina campus. Core units are delivered externally online, and some units are also offered with an internal (on-campus) option. Note that on-campus study is available in Semester 2, while online study is available in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
On completion of the Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, students can articulate to the Graduate Diploma and Master of Public Health, or the Graduate Diploma and Master of Health Research. International students may also be able to study the Graduate Certificate as part of a two-year package combined with the Master of Public Health.
The course requires the successful completion of 40 credit points. This consists of 2 core units (PHM553 Biostatistics and PHM570 Epidemiology and Control of Communicable Diseases, totalling 20 credit points) and 2 specialist elective units selected from a range of options (totalling 20 credit points). Each unit is valued at 10 credit points.
The annual tuition fee for full-time international students in 2026 is AUD $17,368.00, which equates to $4,342.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to annual increases effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to assist international students with the cost of study.
