Students found in breach of the Student Academic and Non-Academic Procedure may also face severe institutional consequences.

Consent is defined as a free, voluntary and informed agreement between people to participate in a sexual act. It must be free and voluntary, specific and informed, affirmative and communicated, ongoing and mutual, and must reflect capacity. Consent cannot be given by any person under the age of 16 years in most Australian states, or under 17 years in South Australia and Tasmania.
