Common Questions
The program comprises three core studio courses, three core contextual courses, and two prescribed elective courses, totalling 48 units of credit. It can be completed in one year full-time across three terms, or over a longer period on a part-time basis. The program offers flexible entry and exit points as well as full-time and part-time study options.
You will develop skills across animating movement, storyboarding and pre-visualisation, 3D visualisation and modelling, VFX compositing, matte painting and camera tracking. Contextual courses cover digital aesthetics, research methodologies and communication skills. Prescribed electives allow you to specialise in areas such as motion capture, rigging, creature and character design, procedural FX, real-time and virtual production, and digital cinematography.
For domestic students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $39,000. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year fee is $48,500, and the indicative fee to complete the degree is $49,500. Fees are subject to annual review by the University and the amounts listed are a guide only.
