The Graduate Diploma in Arts is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree in an unrelated area of study. If you're keen for further study, or want to gain new skills, you will be introduced to a specialised area and emerge with a fresh body of knowledge.
You can examine contemporary modules like anthropology, gender studies, and creative writing, or opt to major or minor in languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, or French. Related study areas include Arts, humanities and social sciences, Asia, Culture and communication, History and philosophy, Language and linguistics, and Social and political science.
The Graduate Diploma in Arts takes 1 year full time or 2 years part time to complete, with intakes available in March and July.
The indicative first year fee for 2026 is AUD $32,000. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are not available for this course.
After graduating, you may be eligible to progress to a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) or a range of Masters by coursework. The 12-month structure gives you an opportunity to explore a new discipline before deciding on a longer period of study.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
