Yes. The Diploma of Commerce provides credit and guaranteed entry into further study. If you'd like to pursue further study after completion of this course, you can continue your studies in the Bachelor of Business. There are also guaranteed pathway packages available, including Commerce (Diploma)/Business (Degree), Commerce (Diploma)/Accounting (Degree), and Commerce (Diploma)/Accounting/Business (Double degree).
For domestic students in Commonwealth Supported Places, the annual student contribution amount (tuition fee) for a standard year of full-time study is between AU$4,738 to AU$17,399 in 2026, depending on the band of the courses enrolled. For example, Law, Accounting, Administration, Economics, Commerce, Communications, Society and Culture subjects attract a maximum annual student contribution of AU$17,399. An additional Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of up to AU$373 maximum applies for 2026. Eligible students may defer fees via HECS-HELP.
Throughout your study, you will engage in work-integrated-learning (WIL) projects undertaken with RMIT partners to allow firsthand industry experience. You will also have access to the RMIT Trading Facility, which provides a live market data feed from Thomson Reuters as well as financial analysis tools used by professionals at the world's leading banks and investment firms. You will connect with high profile brands through industry placements, client projects, guest speakers, seminars and events.
The qualification is taught in smaller groups of typically 25-30 students, creating a closer relationship with teachers who will personally support and guide you. Assessment methods include ongoing assessment throughout the semester such as examinations, essays, reports, oral presentations, group projects, research projects and practical assignments.
