To be eligible for this course, you need either a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, OR a bachelor's degree combined with demonstrated knowledge and skills in programming, operating systems, and computing mathematics. International applicants must also meet English proficiency requirements, including an IELTS Academic overall band score of 6.0 with no band below 6.0.
The Graduate Diploma in Computing has a duration of 1 year full-time. A full-time study load usually consists of 200 credits (approximately eight units) per year, with 100 credits (approximately four units) in each semester.
For domestic fee-paying students, the indicative 2026 annual fee is $36,162, based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credits. The total cost will depend on your course options, including units selected and time taken to complete. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance.
You will develop, apply, evaluate and manage solutions for software systems, organisations and large scale data sources using the latest advances in analytics. You will also apply advanced technical knowledge from specialisations such as Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, communicate effectively with both experts and non-technical audiences, devise new approaches to process large scale data sources, develop innovative computing solutions underpinned by ethics and sustainability, and demonstrate initiative, leadership and ethical practice when working independently and collaboratively.
Applications are accepted for multiple intakes. For Semester 2, 2026, applications are open with a close date of 5 July 2026. For Semester 1, 2027, applications are open with a close date of 28 January 2027. For Semester 2, 2027, the application period runs from 1 March 2027 to 1 July 2027. The course is offered at Curtin Perth campus.
