Graduate Diploma in Construction Law (exit only)

The Graduate Diploma in Construction Law is designed to meet the needs of construction professionals and construction lawyers from Australia and overseas. This program will provide you with the significant advantage of working with lecturers who are leaders in their fields enabling you to gain an advanced understanding of construction law and its interaction with the commerce and practice of the industry. This diploma is available to students who wish to exit the Master of Construction Law after completing four subjects including two core subjects. Offered as a Grad Certificate/Grad Diploma qualification of 40 credit points, it is normally completed in 0.5 years full-time. Accreditation with Australian Institute of Building (AIB), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will be sought. Students do not apply for this award directly: admission is to the parent program, and the qualification is conferred on those who leave that program early having completed the required credit points. It is administered within Western Sydney University's Engineering, Design and Built Environment academic area. Subjects include Law of Construction Delay and Disruption, Remedies in the Construction Context, Managing Legal Risk in Construction Law, Advanced Contract Management and Professional Practice and Building Law.
