You can apply for this course if you have completed a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent) in any discipline — a background specifically in data science, statistics or computing is not required. English Language Requirements must also be met.
Estimated fees for a typical full-time year of study (48 credit points) are: Commonwealth Supported Place (quotas apply) – $8,113; Full Fee (no government subsidy) – $24,384; International – $35,808. An estimated amenities fee of $373 per year also applies for full-time students. Costs depend on the units you choose as individual unit fees vary.
The course is available both online and on campus. Online study is available across all three trimesters (February, June, and October). On-campus study at the Armidale Campus is available in Trimester 1 (February) and Trimester 2 (June). Most students choose to study online with 24/7 tutor support and fit study around work and family commitments.
You will work with industry-leading programming languages such as R, Python and Matlab, and gain in-depth knowledge and skills in developing sophisticated data systems such as databases, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Yes, upon completing the Graduate Diploma in Data Science you can continue your studies by progressing to the Master of Data Science at UNE.
