Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Primary) - exit only

The Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Primary) is an exit point on completion of 80 credit points of study selected from the 1781 Master of Teaching (Primary) subjects as indicated in the program structure. Offered as a Grad Certificate/Grad Diploma qualification of 80 credit points, it is normally completed in 1 year full-time and 2 years part-time. Students do not apply for this award directly: admission is to the parent program, and the qualification is conferred on those who leave that program early having completed the required credit points. It is administered within Western Sydney University's Education academic area. Subjects include Primary Mathematics and Numeracy 1, Primary Creative Arts, Primary English and Literacy 3, Primary Science & Technology and Primary Health and Physical Education. Graduates are expected to be able to communicate and collaborate with families and other stakeholders to enhance learning environments in education settings; critically analyse and communicate understandings from existing research that contribute to professional practice and scholarship; and apply knowledge and skills that are appropriate and evidence-based to create positive learning environments, mindful of students’ well-being and learning outcomes.
