Graduate Diploma in Engineering

The Graduate Diploma in Engineering is a one-year postgraduate qualification offered in two specialisations: Maritime Engineering and Systems Engineering.
The Maritime Engineering specialisation covers advanced maritime engineering — designing submarines, implementing sustainable practices in high-speed ferry development, and solving complex challenges affecting maritime safety, defence and environmental protection, within South Australia's expanding maritime sector. The Systems Engineering specialisation builds systems-level design and analysis capability for complex engineering programs.
Both specialisations share the same duration, fee, intake and program structure, and the diploma forms part of Adelaide University's stackable postgraduate engineering suite.
The program totals 48 units — up to 12 units of program electives, 24 to 48 units for the specialisation and up to 12 units of work integrated learning — over one year across the Adelaide City and Mawson Lakes campuses.
