The standard program takes 1.7 years full time or 3.3 years part time. However, if you have relevant previous study experience, Recognition of Prior Learning (Credit Transfer) may allow you to complete the program in as little as one year.

Admission to the standard 1.7 year program requires a bachelor's degree or AQF Level 7 equivalent in a cognate discipline with a minimum 65% average. Cognate disciplines vary by specialisation — for example, Civil Engineering accepts any engineering background, while Chemical Process Engineering also accepts Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and related fields.
