Common Questions
At UTS, postgraduate qualifications are nested programs that build on each other. A graduate certificate is typically the first four subjects of a master's degree, a graduate diploma is the first eight subjects within the master's, and the full master's has a total of 12 subjects. Students can further specialise by completing an Extension Masters, which adds another four subjects on top of that.
Yes. UTS operates nested programs that build on each other, so students who complete the graduate diploma can progress into the master's degree. Additionally, students who enter via a graduate certificate upon successful completion can transfer internally into either the graduate diploma or the master's.
Generally speaking, as long as you've completed subjects that are deemed equivalent to those at UTS within a 10-year period, you should be eligible for some RPL. You need to apply for your course first, and then once you've received an offer, you can submit your RPL application to the Student Centre for approval. UTS recommends looking over your unit outlines and comparing subject descriptions within the UTS handbook to see which ones are most relevant to any prior study you've done.
Generally, subjects are leaning more to being back on campus, so you can expect to be on campus for the majority of subjects unless you select one of UTS's entirely online programs. UTS also offers flexibility in class scheduling, with many evening options available to help students balance study, work, and personal life.
UTS provides a fee calculator on its website where you can search by student type (domestic or international), commencement year, and course name. The calculator shows the total credit points, fee per credit point, and fee per session. The fee per session is based on a full-time student load of four subjects per session. Part-time students are advised to look at the fee per credit point for a more accurate estimate.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
