To enter this program, you must have one of the following: an undergraduate degree in a cognate discipline (such as medicine, nursing, statistics, computer science, data science or public health, among others); an undergraduate degree in a non-cognate discipline at honours level; successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Health Data Science (7372); or qualifications equivalent to or higher than the Graduate Certificate in Health Data Science (7372) on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, you can choose to study 100% online, or through a combination of face-to-face and online learning. You'll learn through interactive readings, expert guest lectures, hands-on tutorials and practical exercises that build your coding and analytical confidence.
The program can be completed in one year when studied full-time, or two years when studied part-time. It consists of seven core courses and one elective, totalling 48 units of credit (UOC).
For domestic students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $39,000, with the full fee to complete the degree also $39,000. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available, with the 2026 indicative CSP first year fee at $9,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year fee is $51,500, with the indicative fee to complete the degree at $52,500. Fees are subject to annual review.
