About This Course

The Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management is a one-year qualification that equips you to lead and manage people while driving organisational success, building toward a strategic human resources leadership role.
You discover emerging HRM concepts, theories and principles and explore the strategies used to attract, engage and retain talent. The program covers how marketing relates to employee engagement, company branding and internal communications, and teaches you to make informed, evidence-based decisions.
Expertise is developed across core areas including people analytics, strategic thinking, leadership and performance, along with an advanced understanding of complex HRM systems and digital tools. You also apply the financial literacy and analytical skills essential for strategic decision-making, and study entrepreneurial thinking.
Communication is a specific focus: you learn to become a strategic and confident communicator equipped to respond to staff challenges.
Teaching is by industry experts and leading scholars in human resource management, and covers best practice alongside emerging HR practice. An elective lets you align the diploma with your interests and career goals.
The program is 48 units — 42 units of core courses and 6 units of electives — taken full time over one year at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
