Yes. The graduate diploma provides an articulation pathway into the Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence. You can also elect to further your studies by adding an extension to gain research experience through additional research methodology courses and/or an advanced research project, which may make you eligible to apply to pursue a PhD. You can also combine your master's degree with health leadership and management, public health or global health through dual or dual extension options.
For domestic students, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available, with a 2026 indicative CSP first year fee and fee to complete the degree both at $7,000. For domestic full-fee paying students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $29,500, with the full fee to complete the degree also $29,500. For international students, the 2026 indicative first year full fee is $45,500 and the indicative full fee to complete the degree is $46,500. All fees are subject to annual review and are a guide only.
The Graduate Diploma in Infectious Diseases Intelligence can be completed in one year of full-time study or 1.7 years part-time. The overall duration is 0.8 to 1 year(s), with intakes available in Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3.
The program is made up of six courses in total, including three core courses and three elective courses. The three core courses are: Infectious Diseases Challenges: Epidemiology and Control; Outbreak Investigation and Intelligence; and Bioterrorism and Health Intelligence. Elective courses can be viewed in the program handbook and include specialty courses in areas such as HIV control, immunisation policy and practice, and infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.

There are a range of domestic and international internship placements available in Australia, Asia and the Pacific, providing opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to practice in real-world settings.
