Common Questions
You will acquire advanced skills in instrumental and vocal writing, orchestration, electro-acoustic music, professional score presentation, rehearsal skills and concert management, alongside the development of a personal and original compositional voice.
The program encourages composition in all styles, allowing students to explore a wide range of compositional approaches while developing a personal and original compositional voice.
The course can be completed in 1 year full time or 2 years part time, with intake available in February.
You learn to work through all phases of the composition process, from generation of first ideas, to completion of a professionally presented score, to interaction with performers in rehearsals, culminating in a public performance of your work.
The 2026 indicative first year fee is AUD $25,984 for domestic students. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are not available for this course.
