For domestic students, the 2026 indicative total fee is AU$35,520 (full-fee paying basis). For international students, the 2026 indicative total fee is AU$49,920. In addition, a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) of up to AU$373 applies for 2026. Eligible domestic students (Australian citizens or holders of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa) may defer tuition fees via the Commonwealth Government's FEE-HELP loan scheme. Fees are adjusted annually and should be used as a guide only.
There are three streams available: (1) Project Management Generalist Stream (GD194) — designed to give you tools, techniques and theories relevant to managing projects in a range of industries, including property and construction; (2) Project Management Engineering Stream (GD194EN) — provides practical and theoretical skills to successfully manage engineering-based projects and workplaces; (3) Project Management Information Technology (IT) Stream (GD194IT) — equips you with tools to manage projects and people in agile projects and flexible workplaces. All classes for these streams are held at the Melbourne City campus. Note that only plan GD194 is offered for the October intake.
For domestic students, intakes are available in February, July, and October. For international students, intakes are available in February and July. Note that only the general project management plan (GD194) is offered for the October intake.
To be considered for entry, you must either: (1) have successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree or equivalent overseas qualification, OR (2) have undertaken a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in a related industry (applicants with senior-level professional experience of less than 5 years may also be considered). If applying via the work experience pathway, you must submit a CV and personal statement with your application. There are no prerequisite subjects and no selection task required. You must also meet RMIT's minimum English language requirements.
Yes, the Graduate Diploma in Project Management is available via 100% online delivery, in addition to on-campus delivery at the Melbourne City campus. The online delivery option allows students to study flexibly. The curriculum integrates face-to-face learning environments and e-resources including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations, group discussions and syndicate work.
Yes, the Graduate Diploma in Project Management is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). Upon completion, you'll be eligible to become a Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP) with the AIPM. You can also apply for membership of the Project Management Institute and the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. The course is shaped in consultation with an Industry Advisory Committee drawn from the construction, project management, and property industries.
