The Graduate Diploma in Psychology is an accredited undergraduate fourth year program and is an alternative method to fourth year honours. It is for eligible students seeking to pursue training pathways leading to provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or to progress to Higher Degree Research in psychology.
Entry is limited to students who have completed an approved accredited three-year undergraduate sequence in Psychology (or an approved accredited bridging sequence such as the Graduate Diploma of Psychological Studies) at an institution other than Western Sydney University in the last 10 years. You must also have obtained an average mark of 70 in subjects equivalent to Level 2 and 3, with a majority of Credit or higher grades. Additional selection criteria apply.
No. Students who completed their three-year undergraduate sequence at Western Sydney University are not eligible for this program; instead, they are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours).
The indicative annual domestic fee is from $11,885, with discounted student fees available through Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) when undertaking this course in 2026. The international fee is AUD $47,561.
The Graduate Diploma in Psychology is offered at three campuses: Parramatta South (UAC 950757), Penrith (UAC 950759), and Bankstown City (UAC 950758). The next start date is 01 March 2027.
