About This Course

The Graduate Diploma in Public Health provides a flexible pathway into the health sector, with core courses addressing health issues on local, national and global scales and electives that let you personalise the program.
It consists of two core courses in public health and six electives, taken with a strong practical focus. Core options are Introduction to Biostatistics, Introduction to Epidemiology, Global Public Health, Public Health Evaluation and Economics, Health Systems, Systems Thinking and Advocacy for Change, Promoting Health in Individuals and Populations, Environmental and Occupational Health, and Qualitative Research Methods in Health.
You explore areas including epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion and social science research; examine and design strategies to safeguard public health; and study the organisation and delivery of public health services alongside the social, cultural, economic and environmental factors that shape health.
The diploma asks you to create innovative solutions to current and future health problems, investigate preventative health challenges, and craft culturally sensitive responses, while developing strong interpersonal and communication skills and the professional responsibilities of public health practice.
Flexible study options including part time are available.
The program is 48 units, taken full time over one year at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
