The mid-year intake is part-time study only. · A full-time study load usually consists of 200 credits (approximately eight units) per year, with 100 credits (approximately four units) in each semester.

Yes, Australian citizens and permanent residents may have the choice of full-time or part-time study. However, international students studying in Australia on a student visa are required to undertake a full-time, internal study load. Note also that the mid-year (Semester 2) intake is part-time study only, which will extend the course duration, and is not available to international students.
Applicants need a recognised degree in one of the health professions, social work or welfare studies, psychology, theology, education, behavioural sciences (including sociology, anthropology or biological sciences) or related areas. You will also be required to provide supplementary information with your application, including an academic transcript and award certificate, resume, personal statement, and references from two academic/professional referees.
Graduates may be eligible for membership of the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS), which is a member of the World Association for Sexual Health, and may obtain a specialist title as a psychosexual therapist or sexuality educator from SAS after completing the supervision requirements. However, this course is not accredited by a counselling or psychology body. Students who are interested in working in those areas should complete a course recognised by peak bodies such as the Australian Counselling Association or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
The domestic fee-paying postgraduate fee for 2026 is $27,864, based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credits. Fees are indicative only and the total cost will depend on your course options, including units selected and time taken to complete. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance.
After successfully completing the Graduate Diploma in Sexology, you may enrol in the master degree. Career opportunities exist across industries including sex therapy, human rights, disability, health promotion, youth work, education, nursing, and allied health. Graduates may also be eligible for membership of the Society of Australian Sexologists and may obtain a specialist title as a psychosexual therapist or sexuality educator after completing supervision requirements.
