Faith and Purpose
Discover the foundations of faith and how it relates to one's worldview and purpose. Students will explore the Christian story from Scripture and express ideas of their own faith, examine how faith shapes views on the meaning and purpose of life, the value of humanity and ideas of human flourishing.
Old Testament Foundations
Familiarise students with the Old Testament scriptures as a coherent narrative that is of crucial importance to Christians. Looks at how the character of God is communicated and traces significant themes throughout.
New Testament Foundations
Introduce the content of the books of the New Testament while providing a basis for further reading and study. The primary focus will be on the message of each book within its historical-cultural setting with some attention being given to its contribution to the theology of the New Testament as a whole.
Introduction to Theology
Explores the historical and contemporary formation of core doctrines such as the Trinity, creation, and redemption. It delves into how these elements influence individual spirituality and inform broader aspects of life, mission, and vocation.

Advanced Research in Theology
Designed to assist students in crafting a comprehensive research proposal in their discipline area. Students engage in monthly meetings with a dedicated research supervisor and work independently and collaboratively to produce a final viable research project proposition.
Christ and Salvation
Enriches comprehension of the historical, biblical, and contemporary perspectives on the person and work of Jesus Christ, examining the quest for the historical Jesus, early Christology, and theories of atonement.
Pneumatology
Examines the development of beliefs about the Holy Spirit, particularly from a Pentecostal perspective, and how these influence the doctrine and practice of the church today.
Christian Ethics
Helps students think through how they go about making ethical decisions, arguing against legalism and setting up a theological method of approaching ethics that prioritises grace and the power of the Spirit.
Trinity and Christian Life
Designed to answer questions about the doctrine of the Trinity and what it means that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, expanding views about God and the radical significance of who God is.
Apologetics
Explores traditional proofs of the existence of God and analyses their contemporary relevance. Considers the relationship between theology and science and provides students with tools to defend central elements of the gospel.
Creation and Humanity
Provides insight into Christian perspectives on the origins of the universe and human nature. Students explore the doctrine of creation, the concept of humans being made in the image of God, and the relationship between divine providence and human freedom.
Theology and Psychology
Integrates theology and psychology, exploring concepts such as the imago Dei, soul, and consciousness, and applies them to understand identity, meaning, and well-being.
Ecclesiology
The study of the church, reflecting critically on the nature and mission of the church. Puts in place biblical and theological foundations for understanding the church and considers the relationship between Church Mission and evangelistic and social work activities.
Pastoral Administration and Management
Equips students with skills for effectively managing various aspects of church life and community engagement, including evaluating ministry needs, comparing church management models, and addressing compliance issues.
Pentecostal Ministry Foundations
Explores the foundations of the Pentecostal movement, providing an overview of Pentecostal history, biblical foundations, theological distinctives, Pentecostal praxis, leadership, evangelism, church growth and community engagement from a Pentecostal perspective.

Yes. The Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies is a nested award within the Master of Theological Studies at Alphacrucis University College. It can serve as a pathway into the Master of Theological Studies, and students who have successfully completed this course may progress into that postgraduate course. Graduates are advised to contact the Future Students Team for information on eligibility requirements for further study.
The course offers considerable flexibility. It can be studied full-time over 1 year or part-time for up to 4 years. Available study modes include Online Recorded, Online Live, Mixed Mode, and Face to Face. Study locations include online and on campus at Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide (noting that some subjects are available on campus — check the timetable to confirm location and mode). Start dates are available in March (Semester 1), August (Semester 2), and November (Summer).
The course consists of 8 subjects worth 80 credit points in total. It comprises 4 core subjects (40 credit points) — Faith and Purpose (ACA401), Old Testament Foundations (BIB404), New Testament Foundations (BIB405), and Introduction to Theology (THE405) — plus 4 elective subjects (40 credit points) chosen from disciplines including Biblical Studies, Cross Cultural Ministry, History, Ministry, Theology, or Worship Studies at 400 level or above.
The course is priced at $3,150 per subject. FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students, which means you may be able to defer your fees through the Australian Government's FEE-HELP loan scheme.
