Graduate Diploma of Buddhist Studies

The course runs for 118 weeks in total, comprising 105 study weeks and 13 break weeks.

The estimated international student tuition fee is AUD $47,000, which excludes non-tuition fees.

Although the course is mainly taught in Mandarin, students need strong English skills, especially for the unit NAT11128005 Develop and apply complex English skills for Buddhist Studies. Applicants from an English-speaking background and/or with sufficient English skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) are exempt from the recommended ELICOS requirement.

Applicants preferably need a Bachelor Degree or at least a Year 12 Certificate in Australia or an overseas equivalent qualification recognized by an accrediting authority. They must also attend an online workshop and pass the academic and virtue assessments given by the Department of Sinology Studies. Completing ELICOS is recommended. Exemptions apply for those who have successfully completed the 11126NAT Advanced Diploma of Sinology Studies or 11127NAT Advanced Diploma of Buddhist Studies.

After completing the Graduate Diploma of Buddhist Studies (11128NAT), students can progress to the 11134NAT Graduate Diploma of Sinology Studies as a study pathway.
