About This Course

The Graduate Diploma of Business Administration is a postgraduate qualification designed to equip students with the advanced knowledge and practical skills required for the effective and sustainable management of organisations across the business, government, and not-for-profit sectors. The course adopts a holistic approach to business leadership, focusing on strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and innovation in a rapidly changing global environment. The GDBA is designed with content and learning activities that engage with advanced knowledge and inquiry consistent with AQF Level 8 Learning Outcomes.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) in a business discipline; OR
An undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) in any discipline and relevant work experience in a role that requires some supervisory and/or discretionary decision-making responsibility; OR
Previous admission to or the subsequent completion of at least one semester of an AQF level 9 or equivalent course holding a Graduate Certificate of Management.

Mature Age Applicants:

Are 21 years of age or older on 1st March of the year they intend to commence study and have completed a vocational training course and have been assessed by the Dean or nominee to be able to undertake postgraduate studies; OR
Have at least 3 years of industry experience in supervisory capacity in either public, private, or not-for-profit sectors and have been assessed by the Dean or nominee to be able to undertake postgraduate studies.

English Language Requirements:

Students from Australian local institutions must have completed at least a Higher School Certificate or equivalent from overseas.
Mature students from English speaking countries must pass an English language proficiency interview conducted by the Dean or nominee.
For students from non-English speaking countries: IELTS (Academic) with a minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-band score less than 6.0, or equivalent in TOEFL or other accredited English language test program.
IELTS score or equivalent must have been attained within two years of the date of application for admission.
Students who do not meet the minimum English Language requirement may be permitted to enrol after successful completion of an appropriate English for Academic Purposes program accredited and approved by NAPS.

What are the intake dates for the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration?

The Graduate Diploma of Business Administration has three intake dates per year: March, July, and November.

How is the course delivered and how many hours per week are required on campus?

The course is delivered by face-to-face lectures supplemented with online materials through Moodle (NAPS eLearning). There are 3 hours of face-to-face teaching per week for all units, consisting of 2 hours of lectures and 1 hour of tutorials, with each class being 50 minutes per teaching time and a 10-minute break per hour. Delivery also includes online activities such as discussion groups, seminars, and webinars.

What are the English language requirements for international students?

How much does the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration cost?

The tuition fee is $AU 13,000 per trimester. Payment can be made by telegraphic transfer, cash, cheque, or direct deposit into the Academy bank account. The Academy has also partnered with Flywire for an easy and secure method of sending bank account transfers (EFT and international payments).

What units do I need to complete to graduate with the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration?

To graduate with the Graduate Diploma, students must successfully complete 8 core subjects: MGT501 Communications in Business, ACC501 Accounting for Managers, ECO501 Managerial Economics, LAW501 Law in Business and Management (Trimester 1), and MIT515 Cyber Security Principles, MGT503 Ethics and Management Decision Making, MGT502 Business Management, and ACC523 Cost and Management Accounting (Trimester 2). Students must also complete a non-credit Academic Integrity module.
