Common Questions
To be considered for admission, you will need to meet at least one of the following: completion of a bachelor degree or higher in a related discipline (such as architecture, building, civil engineering, property, quantity surveying, building surveying or construction management); completion of a bachelor's degree in any discipline and at least 1 year of relevant work experience; or at least 3 years of relevant professional work experience. You must also meet English language proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band score less than 6.0.
The estimated tuition fee for a full-fee paying place is $31,600 for 1 year full-time. For students in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), the estimated tuition fee is $9,537 for 1 year full-time. HELP loans, including FEE-HELP and HECS-HELP, may be available depending on your eligibility.
Upon completion of the Graduate Diploma of Construction Management, you can further your studies into the Master of Construction Management (S791) or the Master of Construction Management (Professional) (S792). There is also an alternate exit option to the Graduate Certificate of Construction Management (S591).
The Graduate Diploma of Construction Management is available at the Waterfront campus in Geelong and online. It is offered in Trimester 1 (starting March) and Trimester 2 (starting July). Full-time students study four credit points per trimester over two trimesters per year, and may also study in an optional third trimester to fast-track their degree.
Yes, the University aims to provide students with as much credit as possible for approved prior study or informal learning which exceeds the normal entrance requirements. Students are required to complete a minimum of one-third of the course at Deakin University, or four credit points, whichever is the greater. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be granted for relevant postgraduate studies in accordance with standard University procedures.
