Common Questions
The structure of this course is based on the first year of GLI's Master of Counterterrorism Leadership, so it allows flexibility for students who may wish to start with a shorter postgraduate course before committing to a Masters program or for students who need to exit the Masters earlier than intended.
For international students, tuition is AUD $3,750 per unit, with total tuition fees of AUD $30,000, a non-refundable deposit of AUD $500, and AUD $15,000 paid upfront prior to issue of Confirmation of Enrolment. For domestic students, tuition is AUD $2,500 per unit, with total course fees of AUD $20,000, a non-refundable one-time application fee of AUD $500, and AUD $15,000 paid upfront.
The Graduate Diploma of Counterterrorism Leadership includes two semesters with a total of 80 credit points: 60 credit points of core units and 20 credit points of electives. Semester 1 covers Globalisation and Counterterrorism, IT Decision Making and Governance, People Culture and Leadership, and Strategic Resources Allocation. Semester 2 covers Violent Extremism and Hate Crimes, Community Engagement and Counterterrorism, Emerging Trends in Terrorism Studies, and one elective unit.
Both domestic and international applicants must have completed an AQF Level 7 or above higher education qualification (or equivalent) in any discipline and at least two years relevant counterterrorism experience in a managerial or leadership role. Applicants must also submit a CV with a cover letter and a recent police check (not more than 90 days old).
Graduates will be able to: demonstrate advanced knowledge of key concepts and theories related to counterterrorism leadership; critically evaluate challenges and advances in achieving real-world counterterrorism leadership outcomes; synthesise counterterrorism leadership outcomes and identify opportunities for integrating culturally appropriate, ethical, and innovative approaches within a range of contexts; effectively communicate complex knowledge and ideas to peers and general audiences; and articulate appropriate solutions to contemporary counterterrorism leadership challenges.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
