Students must complete 4 core units (24 credit points) — Structure and Function of Language, Language, Society and Power, Discourse and Communication, and Cross Cultural Communication — plus 4 electives (24 credit points), totalling 48 credit points.
The course is available in both Semester 1 and Semester 2. The closing date for Semester 1 applications is 31 January of the commencing year, and for Semester 2 it is 15 July of the commencing year.

You will develop a critical awareness of the connections between language, culture and society, gain experience and skills in professional practice relating to the application of crosscultural linguistic knowledge, and pursue research as a foundation for higher research degrees. The course also covers how language connects with visual contexts such as gesture, image, film, sound, and digital platforms.
