Entry Requirements Higher Education Study Completion of at least an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree in Education, or equivalent, or completion of a Level 8 or above equivalent postgraduate qualification by an authorised institution. Students who have completed an AQF Level 7 Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent in a field other than Education must demonstrate two years professional experience relevant to the field. International Students – Language Requirements IELTS (or equivalent) Score of 6.5 (with no score below 6.0 in any of the four skills areas and a score of no less than 6 in speaking and listening). Additional Information Proof of Identity Applicants must submit a proof of identity document for every application. Accepted forms of identification: Birth Certificate Passport (current and valid) A supporting document must be submitted in addition to the identity document if an applicant’s name is different on their primary document. (Marriage Certificate or Change of Name Certificate) Applicants may be required to provide a certified copy of their identity documents upon request. AC does not accept a driver’s license or photo card as sufficient ID. NSW Department of Education Child Protection Awareness Training All students are required to complete the NSW Department of Education Child Protection Awareness Training before enrolling into a work integrated learning subject and undertaking Professional Experience. Students who have met the academic and essential entry requirements can progress into the course prior to completing this training. Working with Children Check (WWCC) NSW students are required to complete the Working with Children Check online. Students are classified a ‘volunteer’ in Education. Students who will undertake their professional experience in other states need to complete the equivalent check. This should be completed prior to course enrolment. Anaphylaxis e-Training Training is provided free online by the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) https://training.ascia.org.au/ On completion of the online module participants receive a certificate of completion which must be included with your application. The training is required to be successfully undertaken every two years . This is the only training for anaphylaxis management in schools that New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) will accept. Students are required to complete this prior to their Professional Experience unit enrolment . Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks Students must submit a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check prior to enrolment in this course . This is a requirement for students to complete their professional experience in an Australian Early Childcare Centre. This check must have been issued within past 3 months from the time of application to the course. The purpose of this interview is to ensure that they meet the inherent requirements for working with children in an Early Childhood 0 to 5 years context. A follow up live interview may be requested by the Program Director if necessary.

The Diploma in Early Childhood Education equips you with the qualifications and skills needed to work in day care centres, preschools, and other early childhood settings. It accredits you to work in Early Childhood Centres with children from 0 to 5 years old. Career progression could include pursuing further studies, such as a master's degree in education.
