No, the part-time mode is not available to holders of a student visa who are not citizens of Australia or New Zealand, or who are not Australian permanent residents, or who are temporary residents of Australia. International students must study full-time, which is 52 weeks (1 year) across 2 semesters.
If you complete 4 units with the Institute (either at the Institute or with Advanced Standing that does not exceed 2 units), you will be eligible to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Information and Communications Technology.
International applicants must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL 575 or better; TOEFL IBT 91 or better; TOEFL CBT 235 or better; Academic PTE 56 or better; Cambridge English CAE/CPE (from 2015) 176 or better; GCE A Levels with a C or better in English; KITE all bands B2 with a result greater than 450 in each band; or Duolingo overall 115 with no band less than 110. Results are valid for two years from the date of results up to the date of commencement.
The Institute uses authentic assessment principles that may include practical exercises, case studies, presentations, reports, online simulations, essays, and examinations. These may include being done under invigilation.
For Windows, the minimum requirements are Windows 11, an Intel i5 (≥2.0 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD storage, 4 hours battery life, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) with 2×2 MIMO. For macOS, the minimum requirements are the latest supported release or one previous, an Apple M1 chip or later, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD storage, 4 hours battery life, and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2×2 MIMO. All devices require a built-in webcam, microphone, and speakers.
