To be eligible for the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology, applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in an IT area (information technology, information systems, software engineering, or computer science), or have completed a Graduate Certificate of IT. General admission criteria also apply to the course.
In the first trimester, students study Statistics and Data Analysis (BUS708), Communication in Business (BUS709), IT Governance and Emerging Technologies (ICT710), and Programming and Algorithms (ICT711). In the second trimester, students study Information Technology Project Management (ICT712), Advanced Database Design and Development (ICT713), and two electives chosen from: Information Security (ICT722), Virtualisation and Cloud Computing (ICT723), Intelligent Systems (ICT724), User Experience and Mobile Application Development (ICT725), or Web Development (ICT726).
Yes. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology are eligible to apply for admission into further postgraduate qualifications in Australia and overseas. Graduates may apply for admission to KOI's Master of Information Technology with credit given for relevant studies completed within the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology.
Depending on the specialisations chosen, graduates may find employment as a Software and Applications Programmer, Web Developer, System Analyst, or Analyst Programmer. The course is also a pathway to other IT careers.
