Common Questions
The tuition fee for the NAPS Graduate Diploma of Information Technology is $26,000. All students must pay their tuition fees and application non-tuition fees in advance on a trimester by trimester basis at least two weeks before the start of the trimester. There are also non-tuition (administration) fees such as an Application Fee of $250, materials and ebook and software subscription of $500 per trimester, and various other administrative charges.
Yes, the course has two distinct pathways. Students without an IT background must complete foundation units including MIT401 Database Management, MIT402 Programming Fundamentals, and MIT403 Computer Systems Foundation in addition to the core units. Students with an IT background skip the foundation units and instead complete advanced units such as MIT512 Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MIT611 Capstone Project 1, and MIT621 Capstone Project 2.
Students who apply onshore or directly from their home countries must have studied at least 2 years in English and must provide an IELTS (Academic) test with a minimum score of Overall 6.0 (no band less than 6.0), or an equivalent score in TOEFL or other accredited English language test programs. The IELTS score or equivalent must have been attained within two years of the date of application for admission.
The Graduate Diploma of Information Technology has three intake dates per year: March, July, and November. The course runs for a duration of 52 weeks and is offered at NAPS campuses in both Sydney and Melbourne.
Yes, a student may be granted advanced standing for an equivalent subject studied in another institution where the unit was successfully completed towards a similar or related degree, or through other significant learning which the Academic Dean (or delegate) considers equivalent. All credit transfer arrangements will be subject to the NAPS Recognition of Prior Learning Policy, and a credit transfer fee of $50 per unit applies.
