Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

The BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) at Thames International College reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas, and initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation, typically with full responsibility and accountability for their personal output and the work of others.

The qualification applies to leaders and managers in organisations where learning is used to build organisational capability, and the job roles that relate to it may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director. It comprises 8 units — 3 core and 5 electives — covering the development of learning and development strategies, leading strategic transformation, implementing improved learning practice, cultivating collaborative partnerships and relationships, business planning, critical thinking for complex problem solving, innovative thinking and practice, and leading organisational change.

The course runs for 78 weeks in total (60 study weeks delivered as 6 terms of 10 weeks, plus 18 weeks of holidays) at the College's North Sydney campus. It is delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting combined with distance learning — 14 hours of classroom training per week plus 6 hours of structured distance training — with about 5 hours of additional unsupervised study expected each week.
